Michele

Michele is a SATCA (South African Tennis Coaches’ Association) Professional tennis coach and has been coaching tennis for over 20 years. She is one of the founders of the ITA.( This is the only branch that still operates today.) She trained as a player and coach with Pam Meara who had the largest tennis school is RSA ever (1000 pupils!) It is her goal to reach this. She is an expert in teaching and working with children. She loves interacting with people and making a difference in their lives. She is also a mathematics teacher . The ITA is in its 19th year of successful operation. She was the Chairman of USSASA Gauteng High Schools Tennis for two years and was the manager of the provincial side for one season. She has run workshops with many overseas players and coaches and has managed three tours of children over to train in the USA, to attend ATP tournaments and the US Open. She has played league as a junior as well as senior ladies and mixed league for many years. Michele is also a mother of three and an avid dancer.

Kenny

My name is Basiru Kehinde Saheed. I was born in Abeokuta Ogun State, Nigeria on 22 February 1978.

I started playing tennis at the age of 8 years. I started participating in tournaments at the age of 11 years. I played in the She’ll cup U12, Milo U12. Lords Rubens Cup U 14 and U16, Unipetrol U18s. I was introduced to the senior team tournaments within and outside Nigeria. I played these in Lagos, Ghana, Benin Republic, Abidjan, and Togo. In 2001 I was injured and stopped playing tennis. I decided to participate in the ITF tennis coaching course. I did this in Lagos, Nigeria. After I qualified I worked in Nigeria with many different tennis academies and then I moved to South Africa where I continued. I then completed further ITF training in Brooklyn, Pretoria. I coached in Pretoria, Fishoek in the Cape and now in Johannesburg. I also enjoy playing soccer. 

Artwell

My name is Artwell Mutape.  I started playing tennis when I was 5 years old and  I am currently 30 years of age(2017)

I have represented Zimbabwe at a junior level. I started coaching tennis when I was 21 years old. I am a teacher by profession. I have worked in schools in Zimbabwe. I love working with kids and have my own daughter. I would like to see the children I teach go to levels beyond those which I achieved
